Italo Ferreira Put On a Show for the Opening of Rif010 Rotterdam’s New Surf Loch Wave Pool

Rotterdam’s iconic canals are filled with history and the idea of turning one of them into an outdoor urban wave pool goes to show how far the man-made wave movement has come in the past decade.

The city itself isn’t all that far from the North Sea but the opportunity to drop a wave of any kind in the middle of a downtown area like the one created by RiF010 has definitely created a unique venue.

To celebrate the opening of the Surf Loch-powered canal pool, RiF010 invited the whole town out for a demo. And they chose Italo Ferreira to show it all off in front of hundreds of onlookers. As you’d expect, the former world champ put on a show.
